I do not use words to express my thoughts regularly,
but there are times when I feel the world around me has become so
bloody-minded, I can’t stop myself from making some comments.
I am not a politician or a social reformer, but only an artist,
whom life has given some time to share my thoughts and ideas with
others.
‘If we imagine, the whole of humanity is a large caravan traveling
with time. In this caravan most people are busy pulling/pushing,
carrying their possessions, sweating in a race of material achievements.
It is the Artist, who disengages from this entourage; frees himself
from this rat-race, runs ahead of the caravan, finds a vantage point
to grasp/visualise an overview, where the caravan is coming from
and where it is heading to.
Then he expresses this vision by singing
a song, playing a piece of music, writing a poem, making a painting/sculpture
or using another medium to share it with the world.
I have created this website just to share my vision
as a sculptor of the caravan with others. Considering the underlying
mode of expression in my work over 2 decades, it has become more
intuitive, meditative and introspective.
My occasional comments about social or political
issues do not sit well with my other work. After some consideration,
I have decided a separate site www.haraf.com for my comments. Written
words are a very powerful tool, when used carefully.
